We depart early from Arusha after breakfast, heading towards Serengeti National Park. We'll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with brief stops at viewpoints. Entering Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate, we enjoy our first game drive en route to our Central Serengeti campsite. The afternoon game drive introduces you to the vast plains and their inhabitants - lions, elephants, giraffes, and countless antelope species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing our exploration. Return to camp in the late afternoon.

We'll enjoy a picnic lunch and spend the entire day immersed in this spectacular wilderness before returning to our campsite for a final night under the stars.

We enjoy a final early morning game drive in Western Serengeti, searching for any wildlife we may have missed. After breakfast at camp, we begin our journey back to Arusha, with game viewing en route as we exit the park. We'll stop for lunch at a picnic site before continuing to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or airport for your onward journey.

Budget camping focuses on the essentials: wildlife viewing, knowledgeable guides, comfortable but basic camping, and good food. Luxury safaris include premium lodges/tented camps with amenities like swimming pools, spa services, gourmet dining, and private guides. Both offer excellent game viewing, but budget camping provides a more authentic, adventurous experience at about 40-60% lower cost. You'll see the same animals, just sleep in tents rather than luxury beds.

All campsites are designated, fenced areas within the national parks with park rangers present. They have basic facilities: shared bathroom blocks with flush toilets and cold showers (sometimes solar-heated). Our staff handles all camp setup, cooking, and security. Wildlife does not enter the campsites, though you may hear animals at night - part of the authentic experience! We provide comfortable sleeping tents, sleeping mats, and all camping equipment.

Essentials include: comfortable clothing in neutral colors, warm layers for evenings, waterproof jacket, sturdy shoes, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), binoculars, camera, flashlight/headlamp, personal toiletries, sleeping bag (can be rented), and a sense of adventure! We provide a detailed packing list upon booking. Luggage is limited to one medium duffel bag per person (soft-sided, approximately 15kg).

Our camp cook prepares fresh, hearty meals three times daily. Breakfast typically includes eggs, toast, fruit, and coffee/tea. Lunch is often picnic style with sandwiches, salads, and fruit. Dinners are warm, cooked meals with meat/vegetarian options, carbohydrates (rice/pasta/potatoes), and vegetables. We accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice. Drinking water is provided throughout. Meals are simple but filling and nutritious.

Absolutely! Budget camping safaris are perfect for solo travelers. We can match you with other travelers to share costs, or you can pay a single supplement for private arrangements. The group atmosphere around the campfire creates great camaraderie. Many solo travelers, including women, join our budget safaris. Our guides ensure everyone's safety and comfort throughout the journey.

Serengeti hosts Africa's most diverse wildlife populations. Expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest (seasonal), buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous antelope species. Cheetahs and leopards are regularly spotted though more elusive. The Western Corridor adds riverine habitats with hippo pools and crocodile viewing. Birdlife is spectacular with over 500 species. While we can't guarantee specific sightings, your chances of seeing the "Big Five" and much more are excellent.
